∆ Types of sounds
• Diegetic/non-diegetic;
~ Diegetic sound/audio originate from within the video or film. Any sound that the character(s) can hear e.g: bang of a revolver or dialogues.
~ Non-diegetic sound/audio is any sound that does not exists specifically within the world of the narrative itself. It's the type of sound that the filmmakers convey to the audience.
• Synchronous/A-synchronous;
~ synchronous sounds are those that line up directly/precisely with what's happening in the narrative, e.g: character dialogues.
~ A-synchronous is the audio that doesn't matches up with the visuals, these are the sounds which tell that something is going to happen but the source is not shown, e.g: dogs barking or footsteps.
