Representation [Ethnicity]

 The representation of ethnicity in media 

The Media has been controlled by 'whites' since the beginning; so they are/have usually shown as being heroic and dominant. However now that now there has been diversity and now that societies are more mixed as compared to previously the representation of different groups has been shown more openly and without much bias.  

Examples of some stereotypes used within media:

White people : usually shown as good/positive/heroes/strong-in a superior way [sometimes racist]

Black people : shown as strange, tribal and who are usually involved in unethical activites e.g: Crime and drugs - negative representation  

Asians: usually related with academic performances and tech- nerds, submissvie and intelligent

Indians/subcontinent: are shown as being poor, having large families,and are usually traditional  

Middle eastern people: are shown as being violent/aggressive/rich [terorrism is a big stereotype]
